Our innovative whole family programme, For Baby’s Sake (previously known as Healthy Relationships: Healthy Baby) was launched in April 2015 and we are now recruiting a:



Women’s Practitioner (fixed term contract 8 months to cover maternity leave) 

based in Stevenage Old Town Library, Stevenage, supporting women to recover from the trauma of DVA and to give their babies the best start in life.

We are seeking someone who can demonstrate:

  • Outstanding therapeutic skills and a demonstrable track record in forming an effective therapeutic alliance with service users while preserving boundaries


  • A track record of using motivational and strength-based approaches while avoiding collusion 


  • The ability to demonstrate resilience and self awareness in order to be help minimize vicarious trauma


  • Enthusiasm to learn new therapeutic approaches and share and develop your skills, including through receiving feedback and experiential training methods


  • An understanding of the needs of all three family members:

support to help victims/survivors of DVA to overcome the trauma of abuse

support to help adults to overcome trauma (e.g. in their childhoods).

support to help DVA perpetrators to recognise and change behaviour

infant development and attachment – and helping mothers and fathers to give their babies the best start in life. 

This position is full time on a fixed term contract of 8 months to cover maternity leave. Secondments will be considered.  Full details, including the job description, person specification and background briefing information can be found in the relevant attachments.
